Taurac

Most accurately be described as hyper-intelligent bipedal bovines. Weighing almost a quarter-tonne, and possessed of strength far beyond most creatures, they are weighed down by a lack of nimbleness.

Individuals tend towards quietness and contemplation, with their society built around an appreciation of philosophy and art. However, when roused to battle, their fierceness is matched only by the Lurniage. Very long lived. Adults have been known to reach 140.

Currently their best engineers and scientists are working with the Morund Collective to produce the Skyfairer, a vast airship which will dwarf any other construct in the world. Although their main lands are in Okrogmar, they maintain a significant presence in Begureu.

The oldest seafaring race, the Taurac are masters of the oceans, and produce the largest ships, and have recently started producing metal hulled vessels of vast size.

Society

The Taurac recently emerged from a political civil war which lasted for almost 100 years, finally resulting in the monarchy being deposed. They now operate as a democratic republic, similar in nature to the Humans. The major difference between the two is that, whilst humanity has the Lords of Law, the Taurac has a prime minister, the head of government, and junior and senior ministers only.

The checks and balances in Taurac governance come through laws stating that no person in a position of government may hold any office of any type in any occupation or trade, at any level, nor are they allowed to ever again after having held office. Thus the ministers have no professional gain to be made through granting influence to anyone who should try and sway them.
